Elkanemi Warriors FC of Maduguri has boasted that come Sunday, October, 20 in Enugu, it will emerge the winners of 2012-13 seasons, saying that it is their only business of going to Enugu is to lift the trophy after 90 minutes of play.
Speaking to Newsdiaryonline in Abuja, Usman Kawajafa (Warrior), said that God has already delivered the trophy to them, therefore, the team will approach the game with all amount of seriousness, adding that nothing can stop Warriors from emerging champions at the end of the game.
According to him, “We are very sure that come Sunday in Enugu we are going to lift the trophy because Kano Pillars and Bayelsa United who are ahead of us in the log will all fall when they confront their opponents in Katsina-Ala and Gombe respectively,” he said.
Warriors are third on the log with 60 points in 37 games, and will travel to Enugu for the game of the season, while Pillars are top of the log with 63 points, but with four inferior goals difference with Warriors and will be travelling to Katsina-Ala to face a relegation bound Lobi Stars, and Bayelsa United are second on the log with 61 points and will be travelling to Gombe to face their opponents.
However, the fact that Pillars and Bayelsa United would lock horns against relegation bound teams; Kowajafa who is the national coordinator of the team insisted that Warriors can have a better game against their opponents who has nothing to lose at the end of the encounter.
Newsdiaryonline reports that all the ten matches would be played simultaneously on Sunday, where Pillars, Bayelsa United or Warriors will emerge the winners at the end of the 90 minutes of play.
