Farouk Lawan ,the man at the centre of the $620,000 bribery scam rocking the House of Representatives has been released from police detention on bail.Newsdiaryonline.com learnt he was granted a N100 million bail today.
CSP Frank Mba who speaks for Force headquarters confirmed to Newsdiaryonline.com that Lawan is on police bail.But Mba refused to confirm the N100 million bail condition as he insisted such issues are not discussed.He however said Lawan who is now on bail is expected to report to the Police on Monday.He is also required to continue reporting to the police until the case is disposed of.
The Police spokesman said investigations into the case leading to Lawan’s detention are going on.
The House of Reps suspended him yesterday from leadership of the Adhoc Committee he chaired but insisted that it would stand by the fuel subsidy report .
