The Federal Government has withdrawn the appointment of the Director of finance of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria FAAN Mr. Tochukwu Bede Uchendu.

In a letter dated 27th April 2015, signed by A A Tsafe director human resource management, for the minister of aviation reads “We regretfully inform you that the letter is hereby withdrawn pending the conclusion of the necessary due process on the matter”

The letter further directed Mr Tochukwu Uchendu to vacate the office until the due process was concluded and formal letter of appointment issued to him.

It would be recalled that two aviation unions the Air Transport Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria ATSSSAN and National Union of Air Transport Employees NUATE early last week in a petition to the head of service of the federation called for the sack of two directors in FAAN for irregularities in their appointments by the Aviation minister.

The former director was a board member of consumer investment company believed to be owned by the Aviation Minister.

The other director of Commercial was accused of granting waivers worth N1bilion to two companies without approval from neither the ministry nor FAAN.

A committee was then set up to investigate where he was indicted.
