Bomb explosions have been reported in Jo city.The first explosion hit Jos Terminus in the heart of the metropolis.
Then , as people rushed to the scene of the first blast, a second explosion took place as reported by AIT which broke the news of the blast .The Department of State Security ,DSS has repeatedly advised Nigerians not to rush to blast scenes.
Unofficial sources in Jos told Newsdiaryonline.com that at least 43 people were killed in the blasts.Though some said the casualty figure may be slightly higher.
But the death toll rose to over 118 by Wednesday morning.There were fears it could go further up as many more were injured,some in critical conditions.In fact there were hints that more than 200 people were killed during the bomb explosions.
Much later,the News Agency of Nigeria,NAN quoted the North Central coordinator of National Emergency Management Agency NEMA ,Abdulsalam Abubakar as having said, “the casualty figure is very massive. It is a catastrophe.
He added that “The bombers parked the cars and left the explosives to detonate. It was in the market and at a peak period. So, you can only imagine what could have happened.’’
Those familiar with Jos told Newsdiaryonline that the death toll would indeed by high because terminus is always busy with people from all walks of life.One unofficial source said the death toll was huge in deed.
