A bomb blast hit Okene in Kogi state today.It was learnt the bomb exploded in a car which the suspected suicide bombers were conveying it.The explosion, according to a source ,occurred along Agasa road.
Reports reaching Newsdiaryonline.com said the bomb -laden vehicle exploded along the road after the bombers were prevented from gaining access to a church which was alleged to be the target.”The bombers wanted to drive into a church premises but they were prevented.And in frustration they detonated the bomb along the road”, a source said.
There were conflicting reports about the number of people arrested.It was learnt one person was arrested but some other reports said there may have been two persons arrested after the Okene blast.Initial reports said no casualty was recorded.
