American Aircraft Missing After Taking off From Kano Airport

A single engine citation aircraft has been declared missing by Nigerian and Cameroonian aviation authorities .
The American registered aircraft marked with registration number N9784L, reportedly departed Kano at 6.12 am local time on Tuesday June 24, 2014 and was estimated to land in Doula , Cameroon at 11.04 am local time .
According to a source, the aircraft had contact with air traffic controllers in Doula at 11.16 am local time.
The single engine aircraft has only the pilot on board.
It was learnt that Nigerian aviation authorities are collaborating with their Cameroonian counterpart on how to commence search and rescue operations .
Details are being awaited from the aviation authorities.
