Reports from Wukari , Taraba State said violence has broken out today over a “little disagreement”.One source said the disagreement was over a Mosque but the exact nature of the disagreement was unclear.
It was learnt that one of those at the scene of the disagreement had a gun on him. And in the process of disarming him, there was an accidental discharge and a man was shot in his stomach. The victim was rushed to the hospital where he later died, a reporter said.
Violence ensued after ward throwing the town into confusion.
Aside from the lingering combustible ethno-religious situation in the state,the absence of Governor Danbaba Suntai who is on admission in Germany on the heels of a helicopter crash has added to the tension in the state.
Latest reports said a dusk to dawn curfew has been imposed on Wukari by the state government.Security officials in the state also said they are in control of the situation .
