The fourth edition of the Advanced Sports Management Course (ASMC) will get underway in Lagos on Wednesday, the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has said.

Deborah Chidobi, Coordinator of the programme, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the course will hold over three days, ending on Nov.16.

“The 4th Module of Advanced Sports Management Course is currently running from March 2018 to March 2019.

“The session will be declared open by the Secretary-General of the NOC, Tunde Popoola,’’ she said.

Chidobi said the course would be anchored by International Olympic Committee (IOC) approved course director, Prof. Clement Fasan, the Dean of Faculty of Physical and Health Education, Lagos State University (LASU).

“Other resource persons who will be in attendance include Jonathan Dyagas, Accountant with the Association of National Olympic Committees in Africa (ANOCA).

“There will also be Dr Simon Ebhojaiye, Assistant Director, Federal Ministry of Youths and Sports, as well as National Course Directors for IOC Sports Administration Course,’’ she said.

The coordinator said the third edition of ASMC had no fewer than 30 participants, and the NOC would be expecting no less a number again.

“We had no fewer than 30 participants in the last edition of the course, with 12 from the Lagos State Sports Commission, six from the Ministry of Youth and Sports and others from the private sector.

“So far, 23 participants are being expected this time around,’’ she added.

The official disclosed that the last module of the course, which is the final stage, comes up on March 1.(NAN)
