Jonathan To Address The Nation On Oct 1

As part of the activities marking Nigeria’s 52nd Independence Anniversary, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will address the nation on Monday, October 1, 2012.

A statement by Reuben Abati, special adviser to the president media and publicity said the broadcast will be aired at 7.00am. All television stations are advised to hook on to the Nigerian Television Authority for clean feed, while radio stations should hook on to the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria.

The President will also watch a ceremonial Change of Guards by the Nigerian Army Brigade of Guards, at the State House, Abuja. This ceremony will be witnessed by Vice President Mohammed Namadi Sambo, Senate President David Mark, House of Representatives Speaker Aminu Waziri Yambuwal and Chief Justice Mariam Aloma Muktar, and the country’s former heads of state, as well as members of the diplomatic corps, top political leaders and government officials.

The event will be transmitted live, from 9.30am on the NTA and FRCN Networks.
