Aisha Buhari’s brother, Musa Ahmed, turbaned as Dujima Adamawa

The ancient town of Yola, the capital of Adamawa state was agog on Saturday when Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, amongst many other dignitaries, visited to witness the turbaning ceremony of the new Dujima Adamawa, Alhaji Musa Halilu Ahmed, brother to Aisha Buhari.
The ceremony took place at the Palace of Lamido of Adamawa, Alhaji Muhammadu Barkindo.
In his address, the Lamindo urged the new Dujima Adamawa to discharge his duties with the fear of God as well as see the new position as a challenge to do more in helping humanity.
According to him, “There is no better period to receive the title than now. It is a position that is highly reserved for philanthropists who have demonstrated exceptional leadership in civic and charitable responsibility.”
The Dujima Adamawa described his turbanning as the will of Allah and urged residents and other traditional rulers in the state to join hands with him to move the state forward.
Ahmed also thanked the Lamido Adamawa for recognising his giant strides in the society and conferring one of the highest traditional titles in the land on him.
“The added feat is a call to do more in promoting social good and investing more in the people of Adamawa state and the nation as a whole,” he said.
Alhaji Musa Halilu serves as Chairman and sits on the Board of numerous companies with interests in Construction, Real estate, Energy, Agriculture, Technology, Supply chain Management and Venture capital.
Highlights of the events included horse riding by the Dujima Adamawa from the palace to his residence.
After he was hosted by Governor Bindow Jibrilla at the Government House in Yola, the Dujima Adamawa was accompanied to his residence where several well-wishers and guests felicitated with him.
Those who also witnessed the ceremony included the Adamawa State Governor, His Excellency Bindow Jibrilla, National Security Adviser (NSA), General (Rtd.) Babagana Mungono, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Muhammad Musa Bello, and several others who came to witness the occasion.
