The General Officer Commanding 82 Division Nigerian Army, Major General Adamu Baba Abubakar has commissioned some projects at 130 Battalion, Godwin Ally Cantonment Ogoja, Ogoja Local Government Area (LGA)of Cross River State today Tuesday, the 5th of December 2017.
According Colonel Sagir Musa, deputy director, Army Public Relations 82 Division, the projects that were commissioned by the GOC includes 30 flats of 60 rooms accommodation, 150 metres deep centralized borehole (connected to solar power) with 80,000 litres of water capacity per day and a mortuary.
In his remarks at the occasion, General Abubakar commended the Commanding Officer of the Battalion Lieutenant Colonel AM Ahmadu for spearheading and supervising the successful completion of the projects. He also thanked the COAS for his direction and continuous support that resulted in the successful completion of these key projects.
He recalled that “that not long ago, the COAS approved and ensured the complete renovation and construction of many blocks of flats in this cantonment and so it has been done in almost all the barracks across the Division,” General Abubakar stated.
He charged the Commander 13 Brigade, Brigadier General I Isa to ensure that in line with the COAS vision, all the Commanding Officers and their troops, must at all times, remain professionally responsive in the discharge of their constitutional roles.
The ceremony was attended by the troops’ families, religious and traditional leaders of the host community as well as the heads of Nigerian Police, Civil Defence Corps and Immigration Services in Ogoja LGA.
Similarly, the Commanders 13 Brigade, 44 Engineer Brigade and Military Intelligence Brigade, Brigadier Generals I Isa, Mark Mamman and Colonel Kingsley Nwoko as well as the heads of para military organizations in Ogoja LGA graced the occasion.
