Since the turn of this week when the petition written by a group of patriotic Abians, Save Abia Initiative for Change (SAIC) to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was made public, hacks of the former maximum ruler in Abia State in their idiotic mannerism characteristically accusing the former governor of the state, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu of instigating and or being behind the petition which to all intents and purposes spoke the minds of Abians who would want Chief Theodore Ahamefula Orji to account for the monies he received while in office as governor of Abia State.
This is not the first time that OUK would falsely be accused by the hacks of the former governor who would ascribe anything that befall their pay master to his former godfather. When billionaire businessman and philanthropist, Prince Arthur Eze came to Umuahia last year and told TA to his face of his administration’s failure, these writers of small minds blamed it on OUK.
Today, some patriotic Abians who in their collective wisdom thought it wise that the EFCC should be alerted on how Ex-Gov Orji Balkanized their common patrimony which led to non payment of workers salary for months and the general backwardness of the state in general, these enemies of the state are at it again, accusing OUK of being behind the petition.
In as much as I am not trying to hold forth for the former governor, but suffice it to say that it is an insult on the collective sensibilities of Abians to always think that it is only OUK that can only look TA in the face and tell him how he is?
OUK has said it times without number that he does not need to hide under any cloak to say what he feels about his successor in office and this he has religiously maintained in his Saturday column, Kalu Leadership Series.
The identity of those who wrote the petition are not hidden, they are men of integrity who do not need to be induced in whatever form before taken action that would be beneficial to the good people of the state.
Everybody knows that Ex-Gov Orji had a case with EFCC before he became a governor with the attendant immunity. Since he is no longer a governor, neither is he now enjoying any form of immunity, what is the fuss about a petition that has been lauded by Abians from all works of life?
We all live in Abia State and know how bad things were. The petition should not be swept under the carpet, OUK should be left alone and out of this, it is diversionary. The best for the hacks is to advise their master to brace up as Abians are waiting on EFCC to act accordingly.
