All roads will lead to University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN) on November 19, as Gov. Hope Uzodimma of Imo State will be the Distinguished Guest of Honour during the 2nd Heartland Lecture series, organised by Imo Professors Forum (IPF) at UNN.
This is contained in a press statement issued in Nsukka on Wednesday, signed by the Chairman of the forum, Prof Peter Aka, he said that the lecture series was meant to educate the university community and the general public on topical issues.
“Heartland Lecture Series is instituted by IPF in University of Nigeria Nsukka, tailored towards international, national and local topics especially those impacting positively on human capital development.
” The forum is happy and excited that Gov Uzodimma who have done so well in Imo State will be present during the lecture together with other officials of his administration,” he said.
According to the Chairman of IPF, the title of this year’s lecture that would be delivered by Prof Chinedum Nwajiuba, former Vice-chancellor of Alex Ekwueme Federal University Ndufu Alike Ikwo is ” The Role of Higher Education in Social Refinement for Human Development”.
Aka who was the former Acting Vice-chancellor of Imo State University, disclosed that Her Excellency,
Lady Chinyere Ihuoma Ekomaru, (PhD) who is the Deputy Governor of Imo State would be the Mother-of-the Day while Emeritus Prof Tim Nwala, Chairman, BOT of Alaigbo Development Foundation will chair the occasion.
The Chairman of the forum also disclosed that HRH Eze Emeritus Professor Peter Ebigbo and HRH Igwe George Asadu, Okpeudo 1 of Nsukka Asadu would be royal fathers of the day while Prof Polycarp Chigbu, Acting Vice-chancellor of UNN would be the Chief Host.
Aka explained that, the event that would take place at Princess Alexandra Auditorium at 10.am would have Bar. Success Akagburuonye as Special Guest of Honour.
Prof Victor Nwachukwu, Commissioner for Tertiary and Technical Education and Prof Chukuemeka Ubaka, Commission for Secondary and Tertiary Health Institutions in Imo State as Guests of Honour. Prof Val Ekechukwu is the Chairman, Local Organising Committee (LOC) for the event.
