The Nigerian troops on Thursday succeeded in clearing terrorists out of Madagali, which is the last place held by the terrorists in Adamawa State.
The Director Defence Information, Major General Chris Olukolade, who has been on a tour mission in the North-East, disclosed that there was no casualty on the side of the Nigerian forces, which included the Army, Air Force and other security agencies.
A news release by By PRNigeria said mopping up is ongoing, and more details will be provided by the Defence Headquarters in due course.
A military commander who briefed journalists during a visit to the palace of the Emir of Mubi gave assurances that Madagali which was the only outstanding local government under the terrorists’ control after other territories had been recaptured in the state, would fall soon.
Thursday’s recapture of Madagali came as another cheering piece of news in the growing string of successes by Nigerian troops of late.
