Another suicide bomb blast has been reported in Potiskum Yobe State, northeast Nigeria..The explosion occurred at Bulala Motor Park near Fika Junction
A National Union of Road Transport Workers ,NURTW official was quoted by Channelstv.com as having said, “The explosion went off around 9:50 Sunday morning at the Bulala Motor Park, close to Ibal filling station along Jos Road.
“As I speak, we counted five dead bodies but others injured are being conveyed to a nearby hospital in Potiskum for immediate medical attention.”
Sunday’s explosion came one week after two teenage female suicide bombers attacked a market in the town.
Despite serious counter terrorism efforts by Nigeria’s military,Boko Haram has continued to sustain its attacks Potiskum and Damaturu.
The sect made what seemed like daring attempts to seize the state capital.Such moves were effectively repelled by the military.
Newsdiaryonline has learnt that the military’s use of air power has been a major concern for Boko Haram.”They don’t like air raids. It makes them to lose their fighters in droves”,one resident of Yobe state monitoring the sect said recently.
Defence Spokesman ,Major General Chris Olukolade has repeatedly said the armed forces will chase out the insurgents from all the towns they are found in Nigeria.
But the use of teenage bombers remains a puzzle for all stakeholders in the battle against the insurgents. How are they recruited and what motivates them? Answers to these questions are being sought by keen observers.
