Abuja Taxis Offer E-Service

Residents of the Federal Capital Territory would soon be treated to a new taxi experience as Easy taxi deploys its services to those who seek to commute from one point to the other.
Easy taxi an electronic based taxi-call-system said about 100 taxis are already in its fleet to service the city with prompt response to passenger call for taxi service within the city.
Managing Director, Easy Taxi, Bankole Cardoso said the distinguished experience would complement the Federal Capital Territory Administration’s efforts for safe intra-city transportation.
According to Bankole, all taxis a fitted with a smart phone with Easy Taxi application (app) installed the same application would be installed by all would be passenger who would use the application to request for a taxi from what ever location in the territory.
Such request will alert all taxis within a radius while those available would reply giving estimated time of arrival while details of the driver are flagged for the passenger to assess for easy recognition.
Bankole said the taxis on its fleet are owned by the drivers whose details are collected and stored in it’s data bank. He emphasised that each driver on its fleet is connected to three other drivers who operate from their respective parks.
He noted that the service would not in any way increase the extant taxi fares obtainable in the territory as taxi drivers and passengers would still maintainntheir usual drop rates except that the passenger and the driver are connected minutes ahead of the ride givingbthe passenger comfort and and sense of assurance on the ride.
“It is important that we clear here that we are not a premium service, we do not charge more than the taxis you get on the road, we are just linking passengers and the taxis that you get on the road in a quick, safer and convenient manner. So, the price that you pay on easy taxi is the same price as you pay on your regular taxi. We get 10 percent of the rate he charges,” Bankole said.
He also said that the taxis are not branded on the outside as theybremain the property of their respective owners but inside the taxis are easy taxi branded perfume, Taxi logo head rest.
