President Muhammadu Buhari is presiding over the Council of State meeting in Abuja today reports said. Hightlights of the initial reports said Vice President Professor Yemi Osinbajo is among in attendance.
According to reports monitored on Channels TV, those attending the meeting also include former Presidents Goodluck Jonathan and Olusegun Obasanjo.
Former Heads of State in attendance include Chief Ernest Shonekan and General Abdulsalami Abubakar
Also at the meeting include Senate President Bukola Saraki, some state governors and some ministers.
Today’s meeting came two days after former President Obasanjo addressed the press accusing President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, APC of plotting to rig the 2019 election.
He also alleged that the country was sliding back to late General Sani Abacha military regime’s style of self perpetuation.
The Presidency has however debunked Obasanjo’s claims assuring Nigerians of free and fair polls.
Reports said INEC Chairman,Professor Mamood Yakubu is also attending today’s Council of State meeting.
