4,320 PDP members defect to APC in Sokoto

The All Progressives Congress (APC) on Wednesday boosted its membership with the defection of 4,320 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) members to it in Kware local government of Sokoto state.

Drawn from various wards of the local government, the defectors made the announcement during the flag off of the party’s campaigns for the
Sokoto North Senatorial District.

Among the decampees were the former Organizing Secretary of the PDP In the area, Alhaji Abubakar Dan-Soro, Alhaji Shehu Kalalawa, Alhaji Hamza Kalalawa and the Secretary of the Vigilante Group, Alhaji Umar Sa’Idu, among others .

Alhaji Dan-Soro who spoke on behalf of the others said they left the PDP due to its dismal performance in the last four years, as well as the fairness and justice in the APC.

The Chairman of the State Campaign Council Chairman, Alhaji Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, who is also the incumbent Council Chairman of the National Commission for Colleges of Education, promised to be fair and just to the new entrants .

Dingyadi also urged them to work assidously to ensure the success of the APC Candidates,  at all levels, during the forthcoming general polls.

The leader of the party In the state, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko said the party was fully committed to the welfare of the Nigerian masses, as well as the sustainable peace, unity and socioeconomic prosperity of Nigeria.

Senator Wamakko further noted that a vote for the APC was a vote for continuity in the provision of tangible democratic dividends in all aspects of human lives.

The party’s governorship candidate, Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto said, “All those who are not currently in the APC train should be condoled.

“However, the doors of our Father, Baba Alu and those of the APC are still wide open and they would not be shut against anybody willing to join the winning train before  it is too late.”

The Chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Isa Sadiq Achida,  challenged the PDP-led state government to reel out its achievements in the last four years.

The event was witnessed by the former Governor of the state, Mallam Yahayya Abdulkarim, former Deputy Governor in the state and APC Board of Trustees member, Alhaji Chiso Dattijo Abdullahi and Nigeria’s former Ambassador to Morocco, Ambassador Abubakar Shehu Wurno, among others.
