The Northern States Governors’ Forum (NSGF) has joined millions of Nigerians to condole with former Head of State and leader of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), General Muhammadu Buhari over the death of his daughter, Zulaihat.
Chairman of the forum and Governor of Niger State, Dr Mu’azu Babangida Aliyu urged General Buhari to be consoled by the fact that it is only God that gives and takes life whenever He pleases.
In a statement signed by Aliyu’s Chief Press Secretary, Danladi Ndayebo, the forum enjoined the former military leader and members of his family to be encouraged by the fact that although his late daughter died at a relatively young age, she lived an inspiring and a fulfilled life.
The statement said life was not about how long people lived, but how people impact positively on the environment around them.
“Though Zulaihat lived a short life, she brought change to her immediate family, her community, and all those she met, especially women and children,” the statement said.
The forum urged Buhari to take solace in the fact that no living soul shall escape the ravages of death, describing death as a necessary end that would come when it would.
It said the best tribute that the CPC leader can pay to his late daughter is to sustain her good deed of touching lives of the weak and poor.
The forum prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and the family, especially her husband and her children the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
Also,the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) tearfully announced in a statement today the transition of Zulai Buhari, the first daughter of our National leader, General Muhammadu Buhari. She was a graduate of Economics from the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) and was, until her untimely death, a staff member of Nigerian Raw Materials Research Development in Kaduna.
Indeed, complications resulting from child birth resulted in her death. She would have been 41 years old on 5th December, 2012 but for the death which took place on Thursday, 29th November, 2012.
“Our sincere condolences go to the family and friends, especially the close relations and the entire CPC family on this very tragic loss. Indeed, this must be very difficult season for the Buhari family and it is our Prayer that Allah will comfort them. We pray very sincerely for grace for General Muhammadu Buhari to bear this irreparable loss” the party said in statement by Engr Rotimi Fashakin,its spokesman .
She was buried same day according to Islamic rites, and “we pray Allah to grant her Aljannah Firdausi”,Fashakin said.
