2 Remanded In Kano Prison Over Alleged Rape Of 6-Year Old Girls

A Kano  Senior Magistrate Court, No 27 on Friday  ordered the remand of two persons  in prison custody  for an alleged rape of six -year old girls.

The police dragged the duo before the court for defiling the six -year old girls, stating that the duo acted in contrary to the provisions of section 283 of the penal code law.

“ That on  11-02-2013 at about 1130hrs, one Alhassan Idris , male of Dangoro village  reported to the police that you Abubakar Hassan , 20 years old of same address deceitfully lured his daughter  and had sexual intercourse with her.”

“ That on 19-03-2013 at about  1330hrs  Monday Akut reported to the police that you  Bala Umar, 26 years old of Dansarai village lured his six -year old daughter into  your room and   had canal knowledge of her , as a result she sustained injury  on her vagina,” the charge sheet stated.

The accused persons told the court that the allegations slammed against them were all true.

Police prosecutor, corporal  Suleman Danladi told the court that it lacks jurisdiction to preside over the matter, he further stated that, the matter has been forwarded to the office of the director for public prosecution for legal advise.

The presiding magistrate, Hajiya Umma Sani Kurawa ordered that the accused persons be remanded in prison custody, citing that her court lacks jurisdiction to preside over the matter. The case is adjourned to  April 22nd for mention.
