The Speaker, Zamfara House of Assembly, Alhaji Nasiru Magarya, has condoled with his Kogi counterpart, Mathew Kolawole, over the demise of his wife, Mrs Esther Kolawole.
Magarya’s condolence message is contained in a statement issued by his Director-General, Press Affairs and Public Relations, Mustafa Jafaru-Kaura, on Thursday in Gusau.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the speaker’s died on Dec. 5 during a brief illness, at the age of 50.
Magarya expressed deep sorrow over the death of Kolawole, describing the development as a great loss to the Kogi and the nation at large.
He prayed to God to grant repose to the soul of the deceased and give the speaker and his entire family the courage to bear the loss.
Meanwhile, the Zamfara assembly has confirmed six nominees sent to it by Gov. Bello Matawalle for appointment.
The confirmation followed a motion moved by Majority Leader, Faruku Musa-Dosara (APC, Maradun I) and Yusuf Alhasan-Kanoma (APC, Maru North).
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the nominees included special advisers and members of the state Judicial Service Commission.
Those nominated as special advisers were: Sulaiman Sarkinshanu-Shinkafi and Anas Kaura-Namoda, while
Mahadi Ibrahim-Gusau, Abdullahi Ma’aji, Muhammad-Sani Ibrahim and Abdullahi Maikano were picked as members of judicial service commission. (NAN)
