Again, Yero Urges Parents To Immunize Their Kids

Kaduna State Governor, Alhaji Mukhtar Ramalan Yero has once again ,called on the parents to always allow their Children to be Immunized with a view to kicking out Polio in the State in particular and the country as a whole.
Governor Yero made the call today (Saturday) at the officials flagging off of the Sub-National Immunizations Plus days (SIPDs) for the month of June 2014 at Richifa village in Soba Local Governments of the State.
He said parents must allow their children of between 0 – 5 years to be immunized aimed at making them healthier so that in future they would be useful to themselves and to the society.
Governor Yero who spoke through the State Commissioner of Health Dr Joseph Dogo Thot commended the development partners for their support and cooperation so as to address children killer diseases.
In his speech, the Executive secretary, Kaduna State Primary health care Agency, Dr Sufiyan Mu’awiyyah Babale said all necessary arrangement towards the successful implementation of the June 2014 SIPDs has been concluded both at the state and Local Governments levels; “I can confidently say that we are well prepared and ready to implement the exercise throughout the state”.
He then expressed his appreciation to the Royal Fathers, Community and Religious leaders for their firm convictions towards Polio eradication in the state and urged them to assist further in mobilizing mothers and caregivers to avail their eligible children the opportunity to be vaccinated with the OPV for the overall success of the exercise.
Dr Babale announced that since November, 2012 to date no single case of wild polio virus explaining that “Kaduna State is now 19 months consecutively without a single case of wild polio virus”
