Sokoto state governor Aminu Tambuwal has directed immediate recruitment of indigenous graduates into the services of the state.

He ordered the Head of Service of the state when he received associations of students and youths who paid solidarity visit on him Wednesday.

Disclosing that the state government had taken census of civil servants that were due to retire, Tambuwal stressed that the move was in preparation for the recruitment, which he believed would guard against thuggery.

“This administration accords utmost priority to youth development. This is why we have spent about N3 billion on scholarship and students’ allowances. I am concern about your future. We will do everything humanly possible to make your life better.

“This is why when I came on board three years ago I made a pledge to the people of Sokoto that I will not encourage area-boysm, thuggery or banditry. I have never through me or any person encouare any Sokoto youth to go and abuse his life, rather I am talking to them to desist from such activities.

“Whoever ask you to be an area boy, tell him to bring his child to lead you. So I commend you for maintaining your dignity by avoiding thuggery,” he said.

Tambuwal assured that his administration would continue to work to make the state and the country better.
