Sokoto To Engage 200 Diploma Holders As Drivers

Governor Aliyu Wamakko of Sokoto State has approved the appointment of a six-man committee to recruit two hundred Diploma holders in the state as drivers.The committee has Amb. Abubakar Sani and Alhaji Mahmud Jabbi, Director, Administration, Department of Administration and General Services as Chairman and Secretary, respectively .
A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Alhaji Sahabi Gada and issued to news men in Sokoto on Monday enumerated the terms of reference to include screening and identifying the most qualified applicants from across the 23 local governments of the state.
The committee, which has four weeks within which to submit its report to the state government for implementation, “will also identify the needed training and the most qualified training institution that would train the new drivers to be employed,” the statement read in part.
