There was a mixture and shock and anxiety   by associates and  sources close  to  the family members of former National Security Adviser,Colonel Sambo Dasuki whose Abuja residence was stormed  by security operatives on Thursday.Dasuki was relieved of his appointment along with the sacking of Goodluck Jonathan’s service chiefs earlier  this week.

More shocking, according sources close to the former NSA was the  fact that the Sokoto residence of former Sultan Ibrahim Dasuki   who is the ex NSA’s father was also  invaded same day by security men.

“They also invaded Baba’s residence in Sokoto” said a source close to the family.Baba is the general name for the former Sultan of Sokoto who practically lives in Kaduna.

“It’s surprising. When last did Baba go to Sokoto? Why invade his residence there?” a source close to the family asked.

No official explanation was immediately available but a source in Aso Rock dismissed claims in social media that it was  President Buhari that ordered the invasions.

No matter, those close to ex NSA expressed shock. One of them told Newsdiaryonline : “The man was in the office on Monday and Tuesday, whatever the problem may be, I believe it could be handled in a better ,less combative way.I hope they will resolve the issues amicably.”

Another obsever expressed the fear that it may be all down to what he claimed was the “vendetta of 1984”.The observer was referring to the fact that  Col Sambo Dasuki(rtd)  and some other officers were responsible for the arrest of then Head of State General Muhammadu Buhari  as he was toppled by General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida in a military coup.

Others say vendetta may not be the issue as Buhari has publicly announced that he had put the past behind him. Buhari also recently announced that his government would not tolerate  political harassment  of any Nigerian.

Newsdiaryonline  however recalls that the former NSA was embroiled in some  secret political battles with some opposition  political heavyweight while the Goodluck Jonathan presidency lasted.Pro and Sambo   Dasuki articles were written and published in the media  .Some of them were published by Newsdiaryonline as for instance, the  relations between  former Sokoto State Governor Aliyu Wamakko and the former NSA turned sour.

Also, there have also  been unofficial  reports about alleged deals linked to the ex  NSA’s office. The reports of alleged deals were however dismissed as untrue by those close to the ex NSA  while the Dasuki was in office.

As at the time of filing this report there was neither   an official statement from the Department of State Service ,DSS nor the Presidency.
