Senate Committee arrives in Saudi Arabia for Hajj oversight duty

Senator Monsurat Sunmonu, Chairman, Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs, and three staff of the committee on Wednesday arrived in Madinah ahead of other members for an oversight function in the Holy land.

The lawmaker, who was received by officials of NAHCON led by its Madinah Coordinator Ahmed Maigari, will inspect facilities in place for pilgrims during the Hajj together with other members.
She said on arrival at the Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport Madinah, that other committee members would join her later in the Holy land.
Facilities expected to be inspected include hotel accommodation, transport system, feeding arrangement for pilgrims both in Makkah and Madinah.
Administrative staff on her entourage include the committee’s Clerk, Salisu Umar.
The Saudi Arabian authorities recently declared Monday August 20, as Arafat Day and the following day Tuesday Eid-il-Adha celebration. (NAN)
