The Senator Representing Southern Taraba, Emmanuel Bwacha, has inaugurated a N22 million Court Complex to ease accommodation problems of judicial officials in Mararraba, a town in Donga Local Area of the state.
Speaking at the handing over of the project to the State Judiciary on Tuesday, Bwacha explained that he noticed the inadequate office accommodation being experienced by judicial staff in the area, hence the project.
“Welfare of staff and motivation as well as decent office accommodation, are among the necessary ingredients needed to improve the productivity of workers,” he said.
The lawmaker, who is the Deputy Minority Leader in the Senate, said that the project was also an intervention to improve the efficiency of workers of the Judiciary operating in the area.
Bwacha, a second term PDP Senator, called on the people of the Senatorial District to give him another opportunity, in 2019, to enable him provide more dividends of democracy for them.
Speaking at the occasion, the Governor of the state, Mr Darius Ishaku, commended Bwacha for the numerous constituency projects he had executed within the Southern Senatorial zone and beyond in the last seven years.
He called on other political stakeholders to emulate the Senator in giving back to their communities by developing people-oriented projects in their areas.
In her response, the Chief Judge of the state, Mrs Josephine Tuktur thanked Bwacha for the donation, noting that the project was one among several “well spirited projects“ the Senator had undertaken in the zone.
She said the modern court complex, meant for the magistrates, would be put to proper use to fast-track the disposition of cases brought before them.
Bwacha also provided scholarships to hundreds of indigent students in tertiary institutions.
The Senator also built a N500 million laboratory complex for the Federal University, Wukari and provided hundreds of tractors and farming implements for farmers in the zone, among others. (NAN)
