Reports today said fighting has flared up again in Kujama, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna state.At least 7 persons are believed to have been killed in the renewed fighting which was described as heavy.
Fighting in the town actually broke out yesterday following disagreement between a Muslim and a Christian in the market. But security forces reportedly intervened though 5 people were reportedly killed yesterday.
Skirmishes continued in Kaduna metropolis despite the imposition of 24- hour curfew on several parts of the state. Clashes were said to be very severe in Badarawa part of the metropolis.
Other reports said some sort of uneasy calm has been gradually returning to the troubled. But observers are very disturbed that the gains of peace made after the 2000 riots have been wiped away by these latest clashes which began after the bombing of three churches in Zaria and Kaduna last Sunday.
