The Nigeria Police Force, Sokoto Zone, on Thursday says it will commence the second phase of the National Health Insurance scheme (NHIS) enrolment for retired officers in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara.
This is contained in a statement issued to newsmen in Sokoto by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Muhammad Sadiq.
Sadiq said that the exercise was aimed at ensuring that no retired police officer, together with his spouse, was left out in the NHIS scheme.
He said the registration of retired police personnel in Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara would take place at various Police Area Commands in the zone between April 12 and April 15.
“All retired police officers, who were not captured in the first phase, are required to visit any Police Area Command closest to them with their letters of retirement and retiree’s identity cards.
“The registration and services provided under this scheme are free of pecuniary obligations and without any form of deduction whatsoever from the retirees’ monthly pension.
“The Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 10, Mr Ali Janga, enjoins all retired police officers who were not captured to take advantage of this second phase enrolment and turn out for the exercise,” he said. (NAN)
