The Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) on Tuesday decorated 12 of the 21 Assistant Controllers Generals (ACGs) promoted recently.

Decorating the officers at the NIS headquarters, the Controller General, Muhammad Babandede disclosed that seven of the promoted officers that sat for the promotion exams had reached retirement age and could not be promoted.

He charged the decorated officers to be self disciplined, hardworking, honest as well as uphold integrity.

“Loyalty sums up all the totality of other virtues, because no matter how intelligent, hardworking, committed  and discipline an officer is without loyalty you cannot be a good Commander, knowing fully well that you cannot give what you don’t have,” he said.

Babandede added that they should be focused on national service that was non partisan.

“You will learn new things, brace up to the tasks ahead by reading widely for self development and capacity enhancing without which your performance rating may be poor,” he added.
