The All Progressive Congress (APC) in Abia state has vowed to dethroned the Peoples Democratic Party,PDP in 2019 governorship election.
To make a bold statement in its quest to actualise this the party is said to be planning to hold a mega rally in the state.
Hon Acho Obioma, the mega rally committee chairman disclosed to Journalists in Umuahia that APC will use the rally to unveil big wigs in Abia that dumped PDP for APC.
The former Federal lawmaker also said PDP must surely be sent packing in 2019.He noted that stories have been told by the ruling party in the state that APC is not on ground.He however wondered why PDP is jittery now that heavyweight politicians are defecting from their party.
He maintained that APC will use the mega rally to make a bold statement that it is a party to beat in the emerging political dispensation.
The Former Senatorial candidate of APC in 2015 posited that PDP led government in the state has done it’s best and the best is not good enough which is the reason his party would capture power in order to give Abians who have been yearning for APC’s people -oriented government.
Earlier in his welcome address, the state chairman of APC ,Mr. Donatus Nwankpa said the essence of the meeting was to intimate the leaders and members about how far the party has gone on its proposed rally, informing them that a tested and experienced federal law maker, Hon Obioma has been made the mega rally committee chairman.
He also added that political stalwarts defecting to the party who will be unveiled on the day will show that PDP is in for trouble come 2019.
Hon Nwankpa called on his party members to close rank as they look forward to occupying Government House when the chips are down under free, fair and transparent election .
