Labour Party Governorship Candidate in the 2019 governorship election in Kwara State, Comrade Issa Aremu has commended the peaceful and orderly conduct of Saturday’s by-election for the Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency seat of Kwara State. The seat was declared vacant following the death of Hon. Funke Adedoyin who had represented the constituency in the National Assembly.
The Labour Party Governorship Candidate in a statement after the release of the election result by INEC, congratulated the winner of the by-election Hon. Raheem Olawuyi of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Prior to the by-election, the Labour Party Governorship Candidate had called for a bipartisan approach for the democratic liberation of Kwara State.
Aremu commended all the actors namely, the contestants, political parties that include the Labour Party, security agents and the good people of Ekiti/Isin/Irepodun/Oke-Ero Federal Constituency for the peaceful conduct of the by-election. He particularly expressed his appreciation to INEC and the security agents for the credible and peaceful by-election.
He noted that the outcome of the by-election shows that Kwarans are now determined to liberate themselves from the age long status quo that has sadly promoted poverty instead of prosperity for the good people of Kwara state.
