Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau, has congratulated the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, on his conferment of the traditional title of “Dan Amana” by the Daura Emirate Council in Katsina State.
Lalong, in a congratulatory message by his Director of Press and Public Affairs, Dr. Makut Macham, on Saturday in Jos, described the conferment as worthy.
He said the title is another testimony and recognition of the minister’s achievements over the years, and his vision of building bridges between various parts of the country.
He said the decision of the Daura Emirate Council to honour Amaechi shows that Nigerians love one another and are committed to building a united, peaceful and prosperous society, that engenders harmonious relationships between people of different cultures.
He urged the Minister to continue to work hard in collaborating with Nigerians, to strengthen its democracy and fast track the development of critical infrastructure such as the railways.
The governor noted that Amaechi has exhibited uncommon patriotism and passion on delivering the President’s mandate of reviving the nation’s rail system.
The Governor also thanked the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Faruk Umar Faruk, for considering the Transport Minister for the title, saying the gesture will help in nation building.
Lalong also congratulated businessman and philanthropist, Alhaji Nasiru Danu, who was also turbaned as Tafida Babba of Daura. (NAN)
