Jigawa agog as supporters await Buhari’s campaign team

#TrackNigeria: The Jigawa capital, on Saturday stood still as supporters and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) trooped out to receive President Muhammadu Buhari and his campaign team.

The Malam Aminu Kano Square, venue of the rally, was filled beyond its capacity.

Thousands of party supporters from the 27 Local Government Areas of the state were still trooping in to the stadium to wait for the President.

The Chairman of the APC in Jigawa, Alhaji Ado Sani said that Buhari would first leave Abuja for Gombe for similar exercise as part of his re-election campaign before coming to Dutse.

Many shops and restaurants were closed by the people to enable them to receive the President.

Malam Yakubu Muhammad, a business man in Dutse central market, an APC stalwart, said that he closed his shop just to be part of President Buhari’s campaign rally in the state.

Security was beefed up to ensure a peaceful rally within the state and at the venue of the rally.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, SP Abdu Jinjiri, said adequate arrangements were made to ensure a hitch free rally in the state.

As at the time of filing this report, President Muhammadu Buhari was already in Gombe. (NAN)
