FG Ready To Support NGOs

Namadi-Sambo- 600Vice President Arc Mohammed Namadi Sambo has expressed the Readiness of the Federal Government to support Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) operating in the country.
He made this remark when he received the newly elected executive officers of the Federation of Federation of Muslim Women Association of Nigeria(FOMWAN) led by the national president Hajiya Amina Omoti in his office at the State House Abuja.
The vice president, who congratulated the association for the success of their conference in Makurdi, used the occasion to extend the best wishes and goodwill of President Goodluck Jonathan who was out of the country.
He thanked members of the association for their work for Islam and urged them to continue to do well for the progress of the country.
The vice president also intimated them on what the government was doing to provide the needed infrastructure to transform the economy. Highlights of his remarks were on power, transportation, education, health, agriculture and other sectors of the economy. He promised to convey their request to Mr. President on the appropriate time to meet with him.
Earlier, the president of the association, Hajiya Amina D Omoti extolled the Federal Government’s efforts in transportation sector especially the railway projects. She appreciated President Goodluck Jonathan for creating the office of the Senior Special Assistant to the president on Religious Affairs (Islamic Matters) and the state House Mosque.
Hajiya Omoti However enumerated the challenges facing the association which include the development of the national headquarters of the association. She appealed to the vice president to facilitate a meeting with Mr. President to enable them brief him on sundry issues.
Present at the meeting were all the National Executive members of the association and those of the state chapters and other support staff.
