Kaduna State Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero said the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state has ensured level playing field to all aspirants on the party platform in all primaries so far conducted.
Speaking after the senatorial primary election of the party in Kaduna North Zone held in Zaria on Sunday, the Governor said the leadership of the party in the state has allowed the will of party members through their delegates to prevail without acting in favor of any aspirant.
He said “as you have all witnessed so far, all our primary elections have provided level ground to all aspirants. The party leadership has not unduly influenced the election of any candidate. Even where there is consensus just like today, delegates voted to ratify the adoption of candidates.
“I believe this approach will further strengthen our party. We have taken this step to guarantee internal party democracy and harmony.”
The Governor also went round the state to canvass support from delegates towards ensuring that he emerge victorious in the PDP governorship primary to hold Monday.
