The Electoral Hub has commenced its Electoral Civics Training, which will focus on the electoral process in Nigeria.

The Electoral Hub is a multidisciplinary strategic think-tank that seeks to provide solutions to improve the credibility and integrity of the electoral process.

In a statement, the Executive Director, Electoral Hub, Princess Hamman-Obels stressed that the aim of The Electoral Hub is to strengthen electoral governance and accountability in Nigeria by the provision of data and critical analysis supporting the credibility and integrity of the electoral process.

“This Electoral Civics Training, which is supported by Centre for Journalism Innovation and Development (CJID) and the MacArthur Foundation, is being held to re-ignite active citizenship among Nigerian youth through electoral education.

“The training will educate participants on the entire electoral process to become aware of all the stakeholders involved and know how to engage them; foster knowledge and experience sharing; and build capacity of social actors to monitor electoral process and safeguard the integrity of the process.

“The following are the objectives of the training: galvanising youth for active citizenship; enhancing electoral knowledge and civics; catalysing young people’s participation in elections; increasing civic and electoral advocates.

“The pilot-training held on Monday, the 31st of January 2022, at Agricultural and Rural Management Training Institute, No. 41, David Ejoor Crescent, near Adisa Housing Estate Apo-Gudu District, Abuja and also on the Zoom platform. It will continue to run throughout February 2022,” she stated.
