Chief  Bisi Egbeyemi, the Deputy Governor of Ekiti has said that the victory secured at the Election Petitions Tribunal will motivate Gov. Kayode Fayemi to do more for people of the state.

Egbeyemi disclosed this in a statement signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Odunayo Ogunmola, in Ado Ekiti on Monday.

Egbeyemi said the judgement had further confirmed that Fayemi and the All Progressives Congress (APC) actually won the July 14, 2018 Governorship Election.

He expressed hope that the verdict would strengthen the APC in the state ahead of the Feb. 16 Presidential and National Assembly Elections and March 2, House of Assembly polls in the state.

The deputy governor, who hailed the people of the state for their support, said the mandate given to the APC would be used to better their lives and take Ekiti to greater heights.

Egbeyemi advised the opposition parties in the state to join hands with the Fayemi administration to transform Ekiti, in line with the four-point agenda of the administration.

The deputy governor, however, urged the APC members to be modest in their celebration of the victory and not provoke opposition members.

According to him, the court victory has positioned the APC as the winning platform, which will make other party members to flock into the party.

“We thank God that gave us this victory and we thank Ekiti people that voted for us, and all our supporters all over the world.

“This will surely make us to have more friends and more supporters and victory is assured for President Muhammadu Buhari, in Ekiti and Nigeria as a whole.

“This judgment is a plus to our party and I just want to urge members of our party and teeming supporters to take it with joy,’’ he said. (NAN)
