The Edo state Government on Friday in Benin, said it had approved the payment of all winning bonuses for Edo Queens FC, to motivate the team for a job well done.

The Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu, made this disclosure during the team’s courtesy visit to Government House, Benin, to present to him, the Edo FA cup trophy, which they won last weekend.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Edo Queens defeated Fortress Lady’s FC 4-0, to lift the female version of the state’s FA Cup trophy.

Shaibu also said that the State Government was working on having a more-befitting and permanent accommodation, to keep the players in the right frame of mind before crucial assignments.

He restated the Edo Government’s commitment to re-brand the team ahead of next season, and congratulated them for the good form they had displayed so far.

Earlier, the team’s technical adviser, Gabriel Adejor, thanked the deputy governor and the State Government for their commitments toward improving sports, and the support for the team.

“The Edo Government has done remarkably well and we must commend them for what they are doing in the area of sport development,’’ the technical adviser said. (NAN)
