Former Minister for Internal Affairs, Sen. Muhammad Magoro has said that efforts by the Buhari administration to tackle insecurity in the country is a major achievement for the nation in the last three years of present democratic dispensation.
Making the remark during Democracy Day celebration in Kebbi, he further acknowledged the effort of incumbent administration in Kebbi State for maintaining peace and security as well as lead in reviving agricultural in the state and Nigeria at large.
Magoro added that the effort had brought economic prosperity to people thereby reducing rice importation into the country.
In a remark, Kebbi state governor, Abubakar Atiku Bagudu called on the people to work collectively with government to harness the vast resources the state is endowed with.
Bagudu expressed happiness for bringing all politicians in the state under one umbrella of the APC to consolidate political, social, and unity of Kebbi State.
Among the achievements listed by the Bagudu-administration include roads construction, electricity, roads, water supply, development of infrastructure including schools and health facilities.
The governor pledged to pursue with reviewed vigour, massive agricultural production and actualization of the production of bio-fuel from cassava and sugarcane in line with the MoU signed between the NNPC and Kebbi State Government.
Speaker of Kebbi State House of Assembly, Alhaji Sama’ila Abdulmumini Kamba commended the governor for providing N100 for each of the members to execute development project in their constituencies.
The APC Chairman, Bala Sani Kangiwa who called on the people to work as one family, also cautioned youths against drug addiction and thuggery.
The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Hajiya Tsahara Bawa commended the governor for the recognition accorded to women in the state.
According to her, nineteen women were now serving as Councillors in almost all the Local Governments, while three women Commissioners had been appointed to the State Executive Council with three female Permanent Secretaries and two Acting Permanent Secretaries.
