Coomassie: Shettima visits bereaved family in Katsina

Governor of Borno and Chairman, Northern States Governors’ Forum, Kashim Shettima was on Sunday in Katsina to condole the family of late Ibrahim Coomassie, former Inspector General of Police who until his death, was Chairman of Arewa Consultative Forum, a body of elders from Northern Nigeria.
Shettima had previously sent out through the media, a message of condolence on behalf of all nineteen Governors within the northern Nigeria before he followed up with a personal visit.
Accompanied by some senior government officials, the governor was received by Alhaji Dahiru Coomassie, younger brother to the late Coomassie.
Shettima said that the former IGP bequeathed a good name for which his family would always be proud and remembered for.
He also prayed to Allah to grant him Aljanna Firdaus and to his family and all of us, the fortitude to bear this loss.
Coomassie who died at the age of 76, is survived by one wife, six children and many grand children.
Before his death, Coomassie was the Sardauna Katsina of Emir of Katsina and Garkuwan Hausa of Emir of Daura.
