Coomassie: Shettima visits bereaved family in Katsina



Governor of and Chairman, Northern States Governors’ , Kashim Shettima was on Sunday in Katsina to the family of late Ibrahim Coomassie, former Inspector General of Police who until death, was Chairman of Arewa Consultative , a body of elders from Northern Nigeria.
Shettima had previously sent out through the , a message of condolence on behalf of all nineteen Governors within the northern Nigeria before he followed up with a personal visit.
Accompanied by some officials, the governor was received by Alhaji Dahiru Coomassie, younger brother to the late Coomassie.
Shettima said that the former IGP bequeathed a good name for which family would always be proud and remembered for.
He also prayed to Allah to grant him Aljanna Firdaus and to family and all of us, the fortitude to bear this loss.
Coomassie who died the age of 76, is survived by wife, six children and many grand children.
Before his death, Coomassie was the Sardauna Katsina of Emir of Katsina and Garkuwan Hausa of Emir of Daura.
