President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has assured that no criminal group in whatever name be it Bako Haram or any other international terrorists can disintegrate Nigeria.
The President gave this assurance on Sunday while receiving the FCT delegation led by the FCT Minister Senator Bala Mohammed that paid him Easter Homage at the Presidential Villa.
According to him, “the nation is going through some challenges, but there is hope as Nigeria will overcome every one of them”.
Dr. Jonathan also promised that his administration will do everything possible to continue to bring development nook and crannies of the country and therefore called for closer collaboration from all the three tiers of government to collectively work in order to solve every minute problem in the country.
The President noted that Easter is the most important ceremony in Christian faith; stressing that without the resurrection of Jesus Christ, “our faith would have been in vain”.
“His resurrection gives us hope. You will have tribulations but there is hope for you. Today we are marking that resurrection,” he emphasized.
His words: “Yes, as nation, we are having tribulations but surely, Nigeria has hope. Even those who think that the country will be divided into North, South, East and West, no way. Boko Haram will not disintegrate this country”.
Dr. Jonathan recalled that when Nyanya bus terminal was unfortunately attacked, Nigerians from all religions and tribes participated in the evacuation of the victims even before security agents arrived and people donated blood even more than required.
He added, “its shows that no criminal group funded within or outside this country can separate us. No criminal group will disintegrate this country. Boko Haram will come and go”.
Meanwhile, the FCT Minister, Senator Bala Abdulkadir Mohammed, who led the delegation comprising both Christians and Muslims resident in the Federal Capital Territory, presented a beautiful Easter Card to the President.
According to him, “we, Christians and Muslims resident in the Federal Capital Territory as it is the tradition, have come together to pay you this momentous Easter homage as a mark of respect.
The Minister prayed that the spirit of this holy season bring the President and his family hope and unhindered opportunities of fulfilling his dreams of Transforming the entire country.
Senator Mohammed also prayed that his esteem family be under God’s watch throughout this Easter period and beyond.
Senator Philip Tanimu Aduda, Senator representing FCT, Chairman, Senate Committee on FCT, Senator Smart Adeyemi, Minister of Special Duties, Alhaji Turaki, FCT Permanent Secretary, Engineer John O. Chukwu fnse, FCT CAN Chairman, Israel Akanji, Chief Imam of Abuja National Mosque, Sheikh Musa Mohammed were among those on the entourage of the FCT Minister to the Presidential Villa.
