Mr Abdullahi Sule, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship candidate in Nasarawa Sate, has advised the electorate against selling their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Sule gave the advice on Sunday in his home town, Gudi, Akwanga Local Government Area of the state, at an occasion organised by a former APC governorship aspirant, Alhaji Tanimu Salihu, to drum support for the election of the APC gubernatorial flag bearer.

He described PVCs as the only weapon that the electorate would used to vote leaders of proven integrity, performers and bridge builders.

“PVC is your right to vote and to be voted for. It is only with your PVCs that you will vote leaders of proven integrity and leaders of your choice during the 2019 general election and beyond.

“Some people and politicians will come with N5,000 or N10,000, among other inducements, demanding for your PVCs.

“Please don’t sell your PVCs as selling with your PVCs means you are selling with your rights, your consciousness and your future and the future of those yet to be born,” he said.

Sule promised to ensure peace and security in the state, if elected as governor in 2019, adding that no investor will like to invest his/her resources in a state where there is no permanent peace.

“It is only with peace that any governor or leader can actually talk of progress, development, good living, talk about empowerment, among other democracy dividends, none of these will happen if people are not living in peace.

“So my number one priority if elected governor is to ensure peace. Number two is to unfold our entire manifestos which start with achieving peace, unity, creation of employment opportunities, industrialisation of the state and empowerment of women and youths.

“Others include infrastructural development, promotion of tourism areas, promotion of sporting activities in the state, ensuring that our educational system is enhanced, our civil service is looked into and promoted and enhance people welfare, among others,” the governorship candidate said.

He also called on Nigerians to come out en masse and vote President Muhammadu Buhari and other APC candidates at all levels during the upcoming the general election.

Earlier, Salihu, who also hailed from Gudi, explained that he organised the occasion in order to drum support for Sule, adding that it is God that gives power to whom he desire.

“The gubernatorial campaign has began, we the people of Gudi felt it is good to give blessings, pray, show love, concern and drum support to our own, the APC governorship candidate, Engr. A A Sule, to ensure his victory because charity begins at home,” he said.

The former governorship aspirant promised to mobilise support and work tirelessly for the victory of the party at all levels in the state.

He also called on the party supporters and other Nigerians to be law abiding, respect constituted authorities and not to allow themselves to be used by selfish individuals to foment trouble during and after the general elections in the interest of peace and national development. (NAN)
