There appears to be a new development within River State chapter of the PDP as its Spokesman, Mr George Ukwuoma-Nwogba has not only taken a swipe at a fellow party member ,but also ventured boldly to recognize Governor Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi as Chairman of Nigerian Governors’ Forum.
In a statement on Saturday, the PDP Rivers state publicity secretary said “The unfortunate utterances of Mr. lbibia Walter is unbecoming of a true party man. The likes of lbibia Walter are those destroying Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Rivers State through their unguarded utterances.
He added “ However for the interest of the general public and the faithful, our
Governor Chibuike Amaechi who is Chairman, Nigerian Governors Forum remains not only in PDP but is also the leader in Rivers state.
“Let Walter lbibia accept the fact that Governor Amaechi remains key to the continued electoral victory of the PDP in Rivers State. The Governor remains committed to his membership of the PDP and as Chairman of NGF can play host to members of that Forum either in Minna, Okrika or Abuja” the party’s spokesman in the state said.
“If Mr. Walter means well for the party he should seek avenue to secure the confidence of the Governor who is the leader of our party in Rivers state. For Mr. Ibibia to have addressed Prof. Wole Soyinka in such guttersnipe words is barbaric and shows how uncouth and desperate that team can be”
