The Nigerian Army has said that its troops successfully repelled a deadly attack by Boko Haram terrorists on Ngala, Internally Displaced Persons, IDP, camp in Borno State.
A statement published on Army Headquarters’ official Facebook page, says the attack which was coordinated during the early morning hours of Saturday, by suspected Boko Haram insurgents was foiled by gallant troops of 3 Battalion after a fierce gun battle.
According to the statement, three terrorists were killed while several escaped with gunshot wounds.
However, one of the escaping terrorists was captured with bullet wounds by the gallant troops.

“At about 0330a.m this morning 6 Oct 18, elements of Bono Haram terrorists attempted to attack Ngala IDP camp in Borno state.
“The gallant troops of 3 Battalion in Gamboru Ngala engaged and neutralised 3 of them, while others escaped with gunshot wounds. The troops trailed the escaping BHTs and captured one of them with gunshot wounds”
“Consequently, the COAS Lt Gen TY Buratai has commended the gallant troops and charged them to remain vigilant and ensure that all IDP camps remain safe,” army said.
