The people of Adavi Local Government in the Kogi Central Senatorial District have been told to sustain their support for the administration of Capt. Idris Wada in Kogi State to enjoy more dividends of democracy.
The State Commissioner for Information, Hajiya Zainab Suleiman Okino, made the call at Ogaminana, headquarters of Adavi Local Government while distributing textile materials to women from all the eleven wards of the Local Government Area.
Hajiya Zainab Okino who said the gesture was her contribution to the empowerment of people in the area noted that it is in line with her vision to reach out to all groups as a representative of the Local Government Area in the Kogi State Executive Council.
She expressed appreciation to Governor Idris Wada for impacting the lives of people in Adavi Local Government Area and Kogi state at large.
According to her, “Capt. Idris Wada is laying a solid foundation for all round development of the State and I urge all our people to support the people-oriented agenda of the administration as we work together to take Kogi State to the next level”.
Speaking at the occasion, a former commissioner and PDP leader in Adavi Local Government, Arc. Muhammed Sule Obaito, commended Hajiya Zainab Okino for the initiative and called on the people to support the government by voting for the Peoples Democratic Party in the forthcoming general election.
Arc. Obaito commended Capt. Idris Wada for appointing one of their daughters as a commissioner, describing the appointment of Hajiya Zainab Okino as “putting a square peg in a square hole”.
While describing the Commissioner as a worthy ambassador of Ebira women, he urged parents to vigorously pursue girl-child education, stressing that women by their nature are nation builders and should be given more opportunities in governance.
Responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, the women leader of the PDP in Adavi Local Government, Hajiya Nusirat Yusuf, thanked Hajiya Zainab Okino for the kind gesture and pleaded with her to use her position to attract more government attention to the problems facing the Local Government and Ebira in general.
It would be recalled that Hajiya Zainab Okino distributed gift items to community leaders in the local government during Sallah and Christmas celebrations.
Highpoint of the occasion was the presentation of textile materials to each of the One hundred and ten women representing eleven wards in Adavi Local Government Area.
