North East Development Commission, NEDC, has been described as a Commission with live changing projects and programmes in the North East States of Nigeria.
Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouk, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development made this known at the Consultative Meeting with Federal MDAs and Security Agencies on the North East Stabilization and Development Master plan (NESDMP) Project, organised by the North East Development Commission on Tuesday in Abuja.
The Minister who noted that NEDC liaise with MDAs to reach out to the people, commended the Commission’s developmental strides in the region.
The Minister said,”North East Development Commission Board liaise with MDAs to reach out to the poeple.
“I commend the NEDC Board for the live changing projects and programmes in the North East States.”
Hajiya Farouk further stressed that NEDC came into existence in October, 2017. In October 2019 President Muhammad Buhari Inaugurated the Governing Board. Also, Presidential Initiative for the North East, the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development was established in 2019 as she became the Minister.
In his Address, His Excellency Prof. Babagana Zulum, the Executive Governor of Borno State, thanked the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs Disaster Management, and Social Development for making the affairs of the North East a priority.
The Governor further said that they will make available 25years development plans and ensure they achieve and sustain it.
