Jonathan To Attend Global Nuclear Security Summit in South Korea

President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan will leave Abuja tomorrow evening for Seoul at the head of Nigeria’s delegation to the World Nuclear Security Summit which opens in the South Korean capital on Monday, March 26, 2012. President Jonathan and about 52 other Heads of State and international organizations are expected to participate in the summit which will discuss global cooperative measures to combat the threat of nuclear terrorism.

A statement by Reuben Abati, the presidential spokesman said the protection of nuclear materials and related facilities as well as the prevention of illicit trafficking in nuclear materials are also on the agenda of the summit.

President Jonathan will also hold bilateral talks with other world leaders and meet with representatives of the Nigerian Community in South Korea on the sidelines of the summit. The President is scheduled to return to Abuja on Wednesday, March 28th, 2012.
