The Football Association helmsmen of all the 36 States, including the Federal Capital Territory met throughout Saturday night into the early hours of Sunday morning , only to end up handing the Nigeria Football Federation an ultimatum to qualify for Brazil 2014 or be shown the exit route.

The State Football Association chairmen held a closed door session at West point hotel, Wuse 7, FCT, with the Nigeria Football Federation, president, Aminu Maigari in attendance.

A source who does not want his name on print said “ it is true, the meeting lasted for long, up till this morning, the State FA chairmen have told Maigari the truth, that he must qualify for the world cup in Brazil, or the Afcon victory will become a waste.

“We discussed so many other issues that is important to our football, but the issue of the world cup qualifier is the major issue, your call woke me up, I will speak to you later, I am tired, I got to bed late because of the meeting,” the source said.

Checks reveal that, the Maigari board was penciled down for a sack, but the sports authorities had to rescind the decision, owing to the success of the Stephen Okechukwu Keshi tutored Super Eagles side.
